How can I correct the rotation of pictures?
Pictures taken with smartphones or tablets can look like they are not rotated properly when transferring them to another device or software. This happens because the device is held at a certain angle when the picture is taken, and it is up to the software at the receiving end to display it however it chooses.
The camera of a smartphone or tablet will write orientation info into the EXIF headers of images taken, and you can rotate it accordingly.
To solve the problem, you can change the file format from a .jpg to a .png. As .png does not embed EXIF info, you won't get the rotation problem anymore. You can do it easily by changing the file name extension from .jpg to .png.
